Veloz is not a game. It is a high-velocity motor-reflex engine designed to bridge the gap between passive knowledge (reading/writing) and active automaticity (speaking without thinking). It is built on the principles of Second Language Acquisition (SLA) science, specifically Latency Reduction, Prosodic Bootstrapping, and Bidirectional Locking.

🧬 The Philosophy: The “Single-Lane Highway”

Most language learners spend years paving only one lane of the highway: Input (English) → Meaning (Spanish). They see a word. They pause. They translate it in their head. They speak. They are trying to drive a Ferrari (fluency) on a single-lane dirt road.

Veloz paves the return lane. We train Output + Speed + Intonation. By connecting both directions simultaneously, you create a high-speed loop where meaning and sound fire instantly, bypassing the slow “translation” part of your brain.

🚀 The Veloz Protocol

Veloz utilizes a specific training protocol called the “Shadow Sprint.” This is an intense, active process.

Phase 1: The Shadow Sprint (Velocity Mode)

Immediate Shadowing: Speak with the audio immediately. Do not wait. This trains Latency Reduction.
Visual Locking (Karaoke): Real-time highlighting syncs visual input with auditory input, reinforcing the phonological loop.
The 8-Loop Constraint: You are under time pressure.
- Loops 1-5: Build muscle memory and intonation.
- Loops 6-8 (Yellow): Focus on Meaning. Can you visualize the concept while speaking fast?
- Loop 9+ (Red): Failure Threshold. If you haven’t mastered it by now, click REVEAL and RETRY.

Phase 2: Active Production (Recall Mode)

See the prompt in your native language.
Produce the target sentence while trying to say it out loud.
Verify with a single audio play. This strengthens the syntactic (grammar) pathways.

Phase 3: Immersion Mode

Select your active decks and press Play Mix.
Veloz generates a curated podcast: Native Prompt → Pause → Target sentence (1x - 5x).
Background Audio: This mode works while the phone is locked. Use it during “NET Time” (No Extra Time) like driving or gym.

🌍 Real-World Context: The Tri-Vector System

Textbooks lie. They give you one “correct” word. The street gives you three. Veloz maps every concept across three cognitive registers:

Standard: The formal, textbook anchor. (e.g., Dinero)
Alternative: The contextual synonym. (e.g., Efectivo)
Slang: The hyper-regional reality (e.g., Lana / Feria).

🧪 The Science

Segalowitz (2010) - Automaticity: Fluency is the restructuring of cognitive processes from “controlled” (slow) to “automatic” (fast). Veloz forces this via speed constraints.
Samuels (1979) - Repeated Reading: Repeating a text until a speed criterion is met improves comprehension significantly more than reading new text.
Baddeley (2000) - The Phonological Loop: Shadowing trains the “inner ear,” allowing you to hold longer sentences in working memory.
